Day 1 – October 27, Saturday
SOFIA
Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to hotel and dinner in a traditional restaurant.
Overnight in Sofia.
Day 2 – October 28, Sunday
SOFIA – VELIKO TARNOVO
In the morning you are going to enjoy a tour of Sofia, most of it as a walking tour. You’ll visit the Roman Ruins of Serdica, the church of Saint George, the oldest building in Sofia, The Parliament, old Turkish bathroom, monuments, the Synagogue and the famous Saint Alexander Nevski Cathedral.
After the lunch you’ll be taken to Veliko Tarnovo, also known as “The City of Tsars”.
Dinner in the evening.

Day 3 – October 29, Monday
VELIKO TARNOVO – RUSE – BUCHAREST
The day starts with a tour of Veliko Tarnovo, the historical capital of The Second Bulgarian Empire. You’ll take a stroll on the alleys of the old town and you’ll visit one of the most impressive medieval strongholds of the Balkans, the “Tsarevets” Fortress.
After the lunch you’ll be transferred to Romania, You are going to cross the Danube River and then you’ll reach Bucharest, the capital of Romania.
Dinner in the evening.

Day 4 – October 30, Tuesday

BUCHAREST
After breakfast, full day sightseeing tour of Bucharest including visit of the famous Parliament Palace, the largest administrative building of Europe. The walking tour includes the famous Revolution Square where Ceausescu, the infamous communist dictator held its last speech, and the bustling old center of Bucharest. You’ll admire as well The Village Museum and famous boulevards and neighborhoods of this interesting city.
In the afternoon you’ll take a stroll in the old part of the city.

Day 5 – October 31, Wednesday
BUCHAREST – SNAGOV – SINAIA – BRAN
In the morning you’ll leave Bucharest. The first stop of the day is the island of Snagov where the famous Dracula is allegedly buried.
Then you’ll reach for the first time the Carpathian Mountains. In Sinaia, a beautiful mountain resort, Carol I, the first king of Romania, built one of the most amazing castles of Europe. Also, in Sinaia you are getting to see the oldest building of this place, the local monastery.
Further on, you’ll cross the mountains into Transylvania. In Bran you’ll enjoy the highlight of this trip, the Halloween Party. Bring your costumes and let’s party in Dracula’s country!
The surprise continues with a night visit of the Bran (Dracula) Castle.

Day 6 – November 1, Thursday
BRAN – BRASOV – SIGHISOARA – SIBIU
In the first part of the day you are going to enjoy Brasov, the famous medieval city of Transylvania. Protected by strong walls and many towers and bastions, surrounded by the peaks of the Carpathians, Brasov is one of the most beautiful cities of Romania. It is here where you’ll visit the Black Church, a wonderful Gothic church, owner of the largest Anatolian Carpets Collection outside of Turkey.
Then you’ll be taken to Sighisoara, one of the most amazing medieval citadels of Europe. You’ll enjoy a walking tour of the citadel perched on a hill. You’ll admire the house where Vlad Dracul lived and the Clock Tower, symbol of the citadel.
In the evening you’ll reach Sibiu where you’ll enjoy a tasty dinner.

Day 7 – November 2, Friday
SIBIU
The medieval citadel of Sibiu is probably the most beautiful city of Romania. European cultural capital in 2007, Sibiu is a gem of Transylvania. You are going to enjoy a walking tour, admiring the cobblestone streets, the nice architecture, the medieval towers and walls, the impressive old churches and the amazing buildings of Sibiu.
In the end you are going to visit the galleries of the Brukenthal Art Museum, the oldest museum from Romania.
The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Optional: you might enjoy a horse-drawn cart in a village located at the feet of the mountains. This ride will give you the chance to observe in the best way a remote village and its daily life.

Day 8 – November 3, Saturday
SIBIU – ALBA IULIA – HUNEDOARA – TIMISOARA
The first visit of the day is Alba Iulia, former capital of Transylvania. It is here where you’ll admire the amazing citadel built in Vauban style at the beginning of the 18th century. Also you are going to see the Orthodox Cathedral, the Romano-Catholic Cathedral, 800 years old and several gates of the citadel.
The tour continues with the visit of the Corvin Castle, the largest medieval Gothic castle from Transylvania.
In the afternoon you’ll reach a well-known vineyard from Romania. The Recas Winery has an ancient history as it is certified since Roman times. Here you are going to enjoy a wine tasting and a tasty dinner.
In the evening you’ll reach the city of Timisoara.

Day 9 – November 4, Saturday
TIMISOARA – BELGRADE
The first part of the day starts with a walking tour of Timisoara, the city where in 1989 the anticommunist revolution started. You’ll visit the Union Square surrounded by elegant buildings. The tour continues in the Revolution Square where you’ll get more details about the revolution of 1989. The Orthodox Cathedral will be the last visit of Timisoara.
In the afternoon you’ll leave toward Belgrade, Serbia.

Day 10 – November 5, Sunday
BELGRADE
Today you’ll be taking a tour of Belgrade. You are going to see the famous Kalamegdan Fortress, Tito’s grave, the pedestrian alleys of the old center. A panoramic tour will give more details about this interesting city.
A farewell dinner will give the last chance to enjoy a glass of wine with your traveler fellows.
Overnight in Belgrade.
Day 11 – November 6, Monday
DEPARTURE
You are going to say good bye to your traveler mates and then you’ll be transferred to the airport.
